Riverside Children’s Theatre, in conjunction with Musical Theatre International, presents Shrek The Musical, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks film that started it all. Join RCT and its fantastic cast as it journeys to a land far away on March 21, 22, 28, 29 at 7pm and 22 & 29 at 1pm at Ramona High School 7675 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504.

Based on the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture and book by William Steig, music by Jeanine Tesori, and book & lyrics by David LIndsay-Abaire, Shrek the Musical features a terrific score of 19 all-new songs, a live orchestra, big laughs, great dancing, and breathtaking costumes and scenery.

Shrek the Musical brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to life on stage.
In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get complicated when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t be quiet, a villain with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero.
Luckily, there’s one on hand… and his name is Shrek! Shrek and his friends bring to us a beautiful message of tolerance and acceptance. No matter what we look like and how weird we are, we are BEAUTIFUL! Bring your beautiful weirdness and let your Freak Flags wave proudly!

The cast is led by a dynamic trio of directors, helmed by ITL award winning performer and director and RCT alumni Michael Eastman. Music direction is led by Boston Conservatory graduate and RCT alumi Anna Hightower. Choreography is by Jennifer Sundell, an award winning performer and musical theatre graduate of the University of Redlands. The production is produced under the guidance of Producer Maraveena Tanielu, Set Design by David Carty, Lighting by Ron Milts, Sound Design by Dorie Couture and Costume Design by Maria Hong.
